This story by Bill Rufty in the Lakeland Ledger has some interesting tidbits about Adam Putnam’s future plans. (special thanks to reader Bsid for passing on the link)
This is how the story ends:
On his political future, Putnam was candid up to a point that left editors wondering if a run at being governor of Florida might be in the offing in seven years.
“I don’t think about running for other office. The House of Representatives is a very special place, more chaotic, but more positive and more active, getting more done than the Senate,” he said. “I don’t spend time thinking about the White House.”
But when asked about running for governor, he replied “I don’t rule anything in and I don’t rule anything out.”
So Senate isn’t important enough for Adam, and Governor is a better route to the White House perhaps? I’d bet Speaker of the House is also probably on Putnam’s list, but that would require sticking around the house a long time, and Republicans re-winning the majority.
What do you think Adam Putnam’s ambitions are?
UPDATE: We’re not saying being ambitious is a bad thing, or criticizing Putnam for that. However, considering the record Adam has built up in Congress, it’s doubtful the people of our state would ever elect him gov’ner
UPDATE II: The full text of the Ledger story is posted in the extended entry, since you can’t see it all on the Ledger website.
